"The New Year"
So this is the new year.
And i don't feel any different.
The clanking of crystal
Explosions off in the distance (in the distance).
So this is the new year
And I have no resolutions
For self assigned penance
For problems with easy solutions
So everybody put your best suit or dress on
Let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once
Lighting firecrackers off on the front lawn
As thirty dialogs bleed into one
I wish the world was flat like the old days
Then i could travel just by folding a map
No more airplanes, or speed trains, or freeways
There'd be no distance that could hold us back.
There'd be no distance that could hold us back [x2]
So this is the new year [x4]

Leaving Home
"It is always sad when someone leaves home, unless they are simply going around the corner and will return in a few minutes with ice-cream sandwiches."

Life's a ditch
This is the creek
-Where my E.T. glasses were smashed after everyone made fun of them
-Where many of my G.I. Joe men were lost
-Where I fell in while riding my bike and had to have 8 stitches in my head
This is the ditch
-Where I smoked my first cigarette while wearing yellow cleaning gloves, so our parents would not smell our fingers
-Where I had my first beer
-Where my brother and the other kids in the neighborhood made re-makes of Friday the 13th and The Lost Boys
This was the place I would go so the boys and men would not see me cry
I don't know if everyone had one of these places----it was nice to visit today-This place that held so many memories for me----and it's nothing but a smelly and muddy ditch.

The plants' association with Christmas began in 16th century Mexico, where legend tells of a young girl who was too poor to provide a gift for the celebration of Jesus' birthday. The tale goes that the child was inspired by an angel to gather weeds from the roadside and place them in front of the church altar. Crimson "blossoms" sprouted from the weeds and became beautiful poinsettias. From the 17th century, Franciscan monks in Mexico included the plants in their Christmas celebrations.

Anyway, I keep picturing all these little kids playing some game in this big field of rye and all. Thousands of little kids, and nobody's around-nobody big, I mean-except me. And I am standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff-I mean if they are running and they don't look where they're going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them. That's all I'd do all day.........

The Holiday Project
There are 20 days left until Christmas.
Depending on who you are and where you live this maybe unimportant, a joyful time of the year or a sad time of the year.
Forget Christmas let us just call it the Holiday Season-something we can all agree on----
Over the next 19 days you will see images that surround me and the city that I live in leading up t0 December 25------1 a day--------------------followed by a quote----------------
I hope that you enjoy Happy Holidays!!!!!

Frozen Nostrils
There is a dusting of snow this am on the cars. It felt as if winter had arrived again last pm. The cold was damn near the kind of cold that when you inhale your nostrils freeze.
Why start a blog?
1.I have all these thougths and crazy ideas running around in my head-----some plain boring, trite and retarted while others are destructive, psychotic and sometimes interesting. Writting these in the moleskin journals over the years has only helped smewhat to relieve the pressure in my skull.
2.No one will ever read it-nothing to worry about
3.This may be my last post
Why not start a blog?
I can't think of any good reasons
